IMMS 2026

The global Metal and Metallurgy industry is evolving rapidly, driven by growth in infrastructure, automotive, Defence and Renewable Energy Sectors. Sustainability and Efficiency are now key priorities with advanced rolling technologies enabling stronger, lighter, and more sustainable metals. These innovations are revolutionizing production by enhancing performance, reducing waste, and cutting carbon emissions.

In India, the industry is gaining momentum under initiatives like "Make in India" and "Atmanirbhar Bharat", encouraging domestic manufacturing and self-reliance. Supported by large-scale infrastructure and Defence projects, the Sector is investing in automation, digitization and energy-efficient rolling processes. As domestic consumption and exports expand, these advancements are set to strengthen India’s global standing, driving the next era of technological excellence and sustainable growth in the metal and metallurgy landscape.

Appreciating the need for a forum to bring together all stake holders in this Area and building upon the success of the inaugural IMMS 2025 (in February 2025), The Indian Institute of Metals (IIM) – Delhi Chapter, in collaboration with DIIA Event Solutions, organized the Second in series of International Metal & Metallurgy Summit (IMMS) on 25 February 2026 at New Delhi. The focus theme was "Advanced Rolling Technologies for Metals & Alloys", The Summit provided a comprehensive convergence of the stakeholders & the key elements and actions related to Rolling Technologies. It provided a premier inter-disciplinary platform for Industry Leaders, Researchers and Academia to present & discuss the most recent trends, innovations, and concerns as well as practical challenges encountered and solutions adopted in the Industry. It also served as a platform for Networking, Knowledge Exchange, and Collaboration, enabling participants to stay updated on industry developments, discover new technologies, business opportunities, and foster partnerships.

In addition to the Inaugural Session (where stalwarts of Metals’ Industry expressed their view-points) and a Panel Discussion on Emerging Trends in Rolling Technologies among the Experts (highlighting the advances in the Area), the following two technical sessions were organized during the Event:

  • Advances in Hot and Cold Rolling Technologies
  • Enhancing Microstructure properties and Product performance through Innovative Rolling

Eminent experts from different disciplines from India and abroad participated in the Conference and presented technical papers covering various issues of Rolling Technologies (relating to above mentioned Technical Areas). There was a good mix of Policy Makers, Government Officials, CEOs /Top Management Personnel, Engineers and Professionals, Mining and Mineral Engineers, Material Scientists and Technologists, Technology/Equipment Manufacturers and Suppliers, Consultants, R&D Professionals and Academicians, Key Personnel of Core & Allied Industries, Trade Delegations, Buyer and Sourcing Personnel, etc. amongst the participants and speakers during the Event
